High Definition Video Production in Edmonton, Alberta:
What is High Definition and how is it different from standard
definition?
Standard Definition or “SD” is typically the quality of the TV
channels or DVD you watch at home. High Definition or “HD” is a
technological leap forward with up to 6 times the picture
resolution, so what you see is sharper and more realistic.
Many new TV's are called HDTVs and are capable of showing high
definition content. 720p and1080i are both high definition formats,
but 1080p provides the highest picture quality

How can I get a High Definition video?
You’ll need to shoot and edit your video in full 1080p and then
output your new video onto a Blu-ray disc, USB portable drive, or
have your video output in high definition video for use on the
internet.
Can Creative Control do all this for me?
Yes. As always, Creative Control is able to offer unmatched
Quality, Value, and Service. We waited to see who would win the HD
DVD, Blu-ray format wars, and now that there is a clear winner ( Blu-ray),
we are able to offer in house Shooting, Editing, and Authoring all
in full 1080p HD format.
Like all technologies, the price has been dropping dramatically in
the last few years, so cameras and editing equipment that might have
costs tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars can be purchased
at a fraction of the costs. The result? We are able to maintain
our aggressive price point. In fact, we now offer complete 1080p
production for the same price as Standard Definition “SD”.
What about my previous version DVDs?
Most of the Blu-ray HD players are “backwards” compatible, that
means it will still play your DVD, however they will play in
Standard Definition, “SD” only. Although SD DVDs will probably be
around for some time to come, we are recommending to all of our
present and future clients to strongly consider shooting in High
Definition “HD”, as this will give the greatest quality and number
of options for future use of the material.
